Pike
The bow wave, then the surface erupts.
Gafsele is the perfect place to target pike on topwater lures. Your lure lands, you see the bow wave of a pike charging at it, then the surface explodes and the jumps begin.
In this tea-stained but clear water you are often sight fishing: watching a pike size up the lure, suddenly accelerate and smash through the surface is what brings our anglers back season after season.
The fishing grounds
A reservoir, lakes and rivers.
- —On your own: 55 km of river and a dozen forest lakes that are still wild, each with its own character.
- —With a guide: more than 100 km of river, enough never to fish the same water twice.
- —Trout lakes, some of them fly fishing only.
Explore the fishing grounds in 3D, with the records for every lake.
The species
Pike, perch, trout, grayling.
- —Pike: all season, from 20 May to 20 September.
- —Perch: strong populations of fish over 40 cm. Several Perch Pro episodes were filmed here.
- —Trout and grayling: 15 June to 25 August on the rivers. All year round in the forest lakes.

Our ethics
Pike: strictly catch and release.
A fish that grows beyond the average size has made the most of its environment: it is the best breeder in the lake. No farmer keeps his weakest stock and slaughters his best; the same logic applies to pike.
Every pike goes back, handled with care. Perch are fished catch and release too, and any perch over 35 cm must be returned. We recommend crushing the barbs on your trebles: the fish unhooks more easily, and it is safer on board.
